Chapter 11

Audio:
Tape Cassettes could be used in my classroom for student who have trouble reading (and learn better by listening). Instead of having them reading a novel, I would lend them to the the tape recording, so that they can still have an understanding of the book.

CDs would be extremely useful in an AYA English classroom. If a student was sick, I could record my lecture onto a disc, and give it to the sick student to watch and listen to. This way, they could stay caught up with the class, even when sick.

Visual:
An overhead projector would be a nice way to show my entire class a poem, and the rhetoric that is used in that poem to convey a message. I could underline the uses of alliteration, anaphoras, etc., instead of just telling my students about them.

A document camera would be useful for my students. If I wanted to show one of my students' essays to the class for editing or emulation purposes, this would be a cheaper and more environmentally friendly alternative than printing out enough copies for the entire class.
